Sometimes you can find Special Orders (SO) or Company level lists of persons receiving medals, but unless it's from a family archives or in some regiment daily report or narrative, the citations describing the reason for the medals are probably not to be found. In the last few years though there's been an amazing amount of division, regiment, battalion and company historical narratives and histories show up on the internet, so keep looking. gs

This question is more for Gary. When you find additional narratives, can you upload them to this site? Is that legal? I have found many new Facebook friends with ties to the 88th that are unaware of this group, so I try to steer them in this direction and to the Webpage.

Jim, If you have or find 88th files, histories, documents, pictures or anything 88th related you think I might not have, I'd like to get copies if possible. You can send them to me at "hello@mtmestas.com" and I'll add them to the my archive and repost them here. Anything produced or published by the US Government is in the public domain. A lot of books are in the public domain. Anything you find on the internet that's in the public domain can be freely copied and shared without permissions. Regardless of who posted it or owns the website, they don't own the material and have no say if you copied it without asking permission. If the item has been defaced or branded with someone's personal logo, etc., it can be blacked out. Copyrighted material can be copied and shared but not used without permission. Personal photos, documents, letters, etc. aren't in the public domain and although you can copy them without much pushback, you don't want to use or publish them with permission.
