Hi Everyone, I am a new forum member anxious to take part in this site.
My Dad, Robert Kline Sr., was a Tech Sergeant at a Battalion Aid Station in the 350th.
I don't know his exact service dates but pretty sure he was in Italy in 1944 and 1945. Happily he is still with us and I will see if I can press him for details worth sharing.
thanks, Bob Kline

Bob, You should use your phone or rent a small video camera and do an extensive oral history interview with him ASAP. Have him write down highlights that he can remember from his service and ask those questions, recording his answers.... follow up with any documents he has, try to get him to remember. I did this with my Dad and am using his interview, plus his diaries from 1944 and 1945 to reconstruct his footsteps through North Africa and Italy......

Thanks, Jim.
Something I know I should have done for quite some time. Like many war vets, he NEVER talked about the war except once in a great while. I am visiting the end of March and I will urge him to sit down for an interview.
I think it will be a little difficult because the implicit message is that "time is running out" ... which it surely is.
Much appreciated - Bob

Hi Bob, Under our new self-hibernation policy, were you able to visit your Dad? If you haven't, you should definately pick up an audio recorder or if you have the memory, use your phone and record him with video as well. Have him get out his photos, diary or any correspondence he had during the war which may help trigger other memories.... if he has friends or other brothers in arms available, bring them in. Two heads will be better than one. Good luck and stay safe!
Regards, Jim
