Hello Everyone, My dad's dad, Raymond Quirk, was a cannoneer in the 338th Field Artillery Battery A. He was inducted June 18, 1945. We was in Italy January 16, 1946 - August 26, 1946. He was discharged from Fort Sheridan, Illinois, on September 20, 1946. I have some photos of his that have names written on the back. One prominent name is Michael Rae, who was on the same gun my Grandpa was on. Another photo has a name on the back that doesn't necessarily match the photo. The name is Frank Klapprock or Klapproch. One photo of a bunch of guys has names on the back, but mostly just first or last names: H. Miller, Tom, Medic, Loyld, Rupp, Dixon, Andy, Price Keun, Steve, Conley, DeRosa, Phenicie. Yes, a couple of those might be spelled wrong, but that's how they're written. One other name on a photo is Lt. Clarence E. Rovold, or Revold, Ruvold, or something similar. Here's a link to those photos, including the names as written on the back: 2quirks.smugmug.com/Scanned-Photo-Albums/Grandpa-Raymond-H-Quirk/
